Utopia Art Sydney
Utopia Art Sydney is committed to the representation of a small group of Australian artists. These include leading members of Papunya Tula Artists, Gloria Petyarre from Utopia and non-indigenous artists from Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. Utopia Art Sydney's reputation as one of the leading Aboriginal art galleries owes much to the fact that all the gallery's artists are represented equally.
Since 1988, the gallery has exhibited Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal artists in a contemporary context. This has led to the emergence of Aboriginal artists like Emily Kame Kngwarreye into the mainstream of Australian art. This policy has also served to expand the references for many of the gallery's artists. The artists Utopia Art Sydney represents continue to explore the boundaries of their work.
Utopia Art Sydney represents the following artists
John Bursill, Liz Coats, Helen Eager, Tony Coleing, Marea Gazzard, Christopher Hodges, Emily Kame Kngwarreye, Peter Maloney, Angus Nivison, Gloria Petyarre, Kylie Stillman, John R Walker and Papunya Tula Artists including George Tjungurrayi, Ronnie Tjampitjinpa, Makinti Napanangka, Walangkura Napanangka, Ningura Napurrula, Lorna Napanangka, Warlimpirrnga Tjapaltjarri.
