Bugai Whyoulter

22 July - 14 August 2010
Opening 24 July 3-5pm

Aboriginal and Pacific Art in association with Martumilli Artists, present new works by Bugai Whyoulter.

'Bugai intially painted country around Kunawarritji, keeping company with her close relatives. She quickly opened up her repertoire, painting Pukayiyirna, the Country on Balfour Downs Station for which she is named and the vast tracts of desert through which she has travelled. Bugai has an exemplary sense of scale: she has made the transition from painting on bodies and the land itself to painting on canvases of dramactically different scales with ease and confidence'
